About

I am a Master's-level Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals experiencing a broad range of challenges - depression, anxiety, life transitions, loss, grief, addiction, relationship concerns, infertility, adoption, and trauma. Although each client brings their own unique history and concerns to therapy, my ultimate goal is to help clients gain clarity, feel greater self-compassion and acceptance, and discover new ways of feeling and being in the world. My clinical approach is strengths-based and highly collaborative. I draw on the ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) framework and incorporate aspects of psychodynamic, relational, humanistic and narrative theories in my work. Additionally, I am fully trained in EMDR and regularly utilize this treatment with clients who have experienced trauma. I received my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and my Ph.D. in Philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago. My work is deeply informed by my training in philosophy. I believe that there is a powerful connection between our core beliefs and our emotional lives. Our willingness and courage to explore, understand, challenge, and at times revise those beliefs can enable us to make meaningful and lasting change. It is an honor to be a part of this process.
